Visibility Brigade

On April 22, 2025, Jersey Shore Blue’s Visibility Brigade took to the bridges of New Jersey with a direct and urgent message:
“STOP THE CUTS.”
The banner was displayed on a high-visibility pedestrian overpass, calling attention to proposed rollbacks to essential public programs.
Purpose of the Action
Oppose federal efforts to cut funding for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other safety-net services
Amplify grassroots resistance through public, peaceful visibility
Highlight the human impact of economic austerity on working families, seniors, and vulnerable populations
What Happened
Activists installed a bold banner with the message STOP THE CUTS, accompanied by an American flag. The display was placed in a commuter-heavy area to maximize awareness and invite civic reflection.
The action was brief, disciplined, and aligned with Jersey Shore Blue’s mission of making political dissent publicly visible and accessible.
Community Response
Drivers and passersby responded with waves and honks. The image of the banner circulated widely online and served as a reminder that cuts to critical programs affect real people — not just numbers on a budget sheet.
Why It Matters
As elected officials consider proposals that would dismantle protections for seniors, veterans, and the disabled, silence is not an option. This action served as a peaceful interruption — a refusal to allow backroom politics to go unchecked.
